Akito Hijiri (ヒジリ アキト, Hijiri Akito) is the engineer of GUTS-Select who designed and developed the GUTS Sparklence along with the GUTS Hyper Keys and various other gadgets and vehicles used by GUTS-Select. Valued for his uncommon talents by the chairman, Akito works as a genius engineer.
Personality[]
Possessing genius-level intelligence, Akito designed and developed the GUTS Sparklence along with the GUTS Hyper Keys and various other gadgets and vehicles used by GUTS-Select. Akito attends the same high school as Mitsukuni's daughter, Yuna, who he grew up with and has a slight crush on. He is protective of Yuna and respects the Chairman.
Akito scowls at others he finds annoying. Envious that Kengo was chose as the Giant of Light, he considers him a rival, though the two would eventually forge an unusual but close partnership, as they work together to uncover the mysteries behind Trigger's origins. However, he later gets over with his envy by accepting Kengo as his friend and eventually move on from his selfish desire.
History[]
Akito Hijiri's parents were scientist and supporters of Mitsukuni Shizuma. From a young age, Akito had already been working alongside them, conducting research to protect the world. His parents died during the appearance of Deathdrago and was taken in by the Shizuma family. [Akito's Promise]
Akito was requested by Mitsukuni to analyze and replicate the relic from the Ultra-Ancient ruins on Earth, for when the carrier of light appears. He created a GUTS Sparklence that could change forms in hopes to protect Yuna Shizuma himself as a Giant of Light. [Leap to the Future]
News broke about the appearance of a monster and Giant of Light on Mars. While Yuna was astounded that her father had been correct about the Giants of Light's existence, Akito looked on pensively realizing it was someone else who became the Giant of Light. [Connection of Light]
The GUTS-Select team was introduced to Kengo Manaka, their newest member, by the chairman himself. He scowled at Kengo disapprovingly when the rookie came up to him. When Kengo got up too close to Yuna, mistaking her for Yuzare, Akito threw him to the floor for being too familiar. He returned to his lab, distraught that the light chose Kengo instead of him. After witnessing Ultraman Trigger's lost to the second Giant of Darkness, Darrgon, Akito confronted Kengo about his identity as the Giant of Light and revealed that the convertible GUTS Sparklence, that the Chairman gave to Kengo, was made by him. Back in his lab, the Ultraman Trigger Power Type Key had been completed. Still coming to terms with not inheriting light, the chairman checked in on him, asking Akito to support Kengo and the future he would create. He hands Kengo the new GUTS Hyper Key to face off Darrgon on equal footing. [Leap to the Future]
