Chandlar (チャンドラー, Chandorā) is a monster that first appeared in Ultraman.

History

Ultraman

Chandlar was one of the many monsters who lived on Tatara Island (along with Red King, Magular, Suflan, and Pigmon). Chandlar was seen in battle against Red King. The two monsters fought fiercely, with Chandlar taking full advantage of his hurricane winds and his sharp teeth. Red King however was the more superior opponent, and he demonstrated by tearing off one of the monster's wings without any trouble whatsoever. Mortally injured, Chandlar wandered away in great pain, unable to continue fighting, while Red King mocked his opponent by hurling both his own wing and a boulder at Chandlar. What became of Chandlar afterwards is unknown.^{[The Monster Anarchy Zone]}

Expecting that GUTS-Select would be monitoring his meeting with Captain Murahoshi, Agams used a similar pendant to the one used to control Neomegas to control a Chandlar and sent it to attack the team so he could escape during the commotion. However, the team was prepared for this to happen, and between the TPU defence system and the team's weaponry, the monster was forced to flee, with HANE2 giving chase in the GUTS Gryphon and destroying the kaiju with the Gryphon Talon Beam.^{[The Fall of Bazdo]}

• Chandlar was portrayed by suit actor, Seino Yukihiro in the original Ultraman series.
• Chandlar was portrayed by suit actor, Yuto Nagachi in the series, Ultraman Decker.

Notes

• Chandlar's original suit was modified from the Pegulia suit.
• Chandlar was slated to appear in the film, "Ultraman Saga" as one of Alien Bat's revived monsters, and was to team up with Gomess (S) and Gubila to face Ultraman Cosmos and Ultraman Zero. For reasons unknown, his appearance was scrapped.
