Ultraman Nexus (ウルトラマンネクサス, Urutoraman Nekusasu) is the titular hero of Ultraman Nexus. He is mysterious Giant of Light that bonded with multiple Dunamist as he fought the Space Beasts.

His true form is Ultraman Noa (ウルトラマンノア, Urutoraman Noa) and appeared in the devolved state of Ultraman the Next (ウルトラマン・ザ・ネクスト, Urutoraman za Nekusuto) in Ultraman: The Next

History[]

“N” THE OTHER[]

Ultraman Noa was a legendary being of light who has protected peace across the universe since ancient times theorized to have been born from a supernova. He bonded himself with various Dunamists, who acted as his partners whose will gave the silver giant strength to fight.

Twenty-thousand years ago, he arrived at M80 of the Scorpius Constellation and fought against the Space Beasts that threatened the globular cluster's inhabitants before entering a deep slumber to heal. This inspired a race of aliens in that Nebula, the Visitors, to create Ultinoid Zagi, a replica of the giant, as their guardian. However Ultinoid Zagi's self-evolution program awakened him with a distorted consciousness and went rogue. The Visitors caused their star to go supernova in an attempt to eliminate Dark Zagi.[1]

Battle of Dream Ultraman Noa[]

Due to the destruction of the Visitors mother star, it created a dimensional rift which sent Dark Zagi to Nebula M78 in another universe. Zagi created a monster army and attacked the Land of Light. Ultraman Noa rushes after Zagi and joined forces with the Inter Galactic Defense Force and managed to expel Zagi from the universe. The battle destroyed Zagi's body and Noa lost much of his power as an effect of using Noa The Final and devolved into his depowered state Ultraman the Next.[2]

Ultraman: The Next[]

While chasing Beast the One, The Next's travel sphere crashed onto a F-15 fighter but saved the life of its pilot First Lt. Shunichi Maki, choosing him as his new Deunamist while doing so. Because the Space Beast the giant of light after had merged with another human named Takafumi Udo in similar manner and that it revealed the prophecy of the other light (The Next) to government officials who briefly contained him, the JSDF led by Sara, Udo's fiancee, forced the reluctant Maki to be the bait for luring the One with potent poison rounds after previous versions of the munition failed. But the Space Beast already grown stronger by that point and evolved further, overpowering JSDF in the process. Ultimately, Maki interferes and instinctively assumes his Ultra form, commencing a battle between two titans that goes stalemate as the One escaped one again as its opponent reverts to his human form due to the strain from his and The Next's incomplete merging.

Continuing the pursuit for the Space Beast after visiting his ill son against his JSDF escorts' demands, Maki, upon learning about Udo's fate along with the fact that Sara only sought to put the monster her lover had become to the rest, wonders whether Udo she knows still retain his humanity like him. Sadly, the duo discovered that not to be the case as Beast the One's merger with Udo proved too much for the man that it killed him at once and allowed the Space Beast to take full control over its host's dead body, and Maki once again steps in to confront the monster all while assuming his Ultra form through his sheer willpower. The rematch between The Next and The One ensues with the hero gaining an upper hand only for his adversary counters by assimilating rats to evolve further before smashing his way out of the subterranean waterway in order to take its time testing his increased power by laying waste upon the city. The Next wastes no time to pursue his foe, but not before evacuating Sara to the safety on the surface just as the ill-prepared JSDF forces come face-to-face with the evolved Space Beast.

Ultra Galaxy Fight: The Destined Crossroad[]

Ultraman Noa awakened on Planet Babel as the Ultra Force and Ultraman Ribut fought Absolute Titan, summoning Nexus to attack any threat. Nexus began attacking once provoked by Titan and deployed the Meta Field with Junis's Phase Shift Wave which trapped Ribut and Titan, forcing the two to work together. As they struggled against Nexus, Sora managed to get through to Ribut via the dimensional tracking device and told him to destroy Nexus's Armed Nexus to bring down the Meta Field. As the Meta Field dissipated, Noa appeared before Ultraman Ribut and Absolute Titan and revealed to them that they could infact work together.

Absolute Tartarus summoned the modified Ultroid Zero on Planet Babel. As it fired its D4 Ray, Nexus Junis Blue appeared to defend Ultraman Ribut. Nexus took on Ultroid Zero as Ultraman Zero, now awakened, arrived on Babel to challenge Tartarus once again. Nexus finally evolved back into his true form of Ultraman Noa and destroyed the Robot with the Lightning Noa. Noa commended Ribut, who had been depleted of energy, and vanished once more.
