His Majesty's Medal (陛下のメダル, Heika no Medaru) is the seventh episode of Ultraman Z.[1] It features the return of Ultraman Zero.

This episode is accompanied by the seventh episode of Ultraman Z & Zero Voice Drama, Go Back in Time.

Synopsis[]

When Riku is kidnapped so that his hidden power can be used for evil, STORAGE and Ultraman Z spring into action. When Riku's power is used to revive enemies of his past, Z and Geed receive help from an unforeseen returning ally.

Summary[]

Ultraman Zero, still trapped in the fourth dimension from his skirmish with Genegarg and Bullton becomes desperate to escape his imprisonment and out of desperation switches to his Shining Zero form. Meanwhile back on Earth, Riku is being treated to lunch by STORAGE for helping the team in defeating Gillvalis when the team is confronted by a pair of men from Japan's Global Allied Forces who demand that Riku come with them. Noting that something isn't right, Hebikura attacks the men, revealing that they are both androids known as Valis Raiders (the cycloptian creatures that were summoned by Shinya Kaburagi). The members of STORAGE fend off the androids as best as they can, but despite their efforts, Riku is apprehended by one of the androids and is teleported away. Before the Valis Raiders can escape though, Haruki manages to disable one of them, allowing STORAGE to analyze its data. Having traced its origin from a nearby abandoned industrial facility, STORAGE immediately heads out to save Riku.

Riku awakens to see that he has been strapped to a machine that can siphon Ultraman Belial's factors from his body, with Kaburagi at its reigns. Despite Riku's protests, Kaburagi ignores him and activates the machine, painfully extracting a portion of Belial's DNA from Riku and allowing the madman to create an Ultra Medal based on Ultraman Belial. Haruki and Yoko arrive shortly after the procedure, but during their investigation, the pair are attacked by a squadron of Valis Raiders. STORAGE puts up a decent fight after first, but the number of androids quickly overwhelm them. Seeing this as an emergence, Ultraman Z takes control of Haruki's body and forcefully transforms him into a human-sized version of Z himself. Thanks to his far superior strength and fighting capabilities (and partially due to Yoko's enamored gawking at seeing Z in person), the ultra makes short work of the Valis Raiders. While Z is busy with the androids though, Hebikura takes off to become Jugglus Juggler and he arrives at the facility to rescue Riku, destroying the machine he was strapped to in the process.

Despite Z and Juggler's efforts though, Kaburagi puts his new Belial medal to the test by using it, along with monster medals of Red King and Gomora to transform into the fusion beast: Skull Gomora. Having reunited with one another after Juggler's rescue, Haruki and Riku notice the monster's arrival and immediately transform into Ultraman Z and Ultraman Geed to stop his rampage. The duo ultras engage Skull Gomora into a fierce battle, and after a relatively short fight, the monster is seemingly destroyed by a combination of Geed' Wrecking Ripper attack and Z's Z Slugger attack. Suddenly, Kaburagi surprises the duo by immediately transforming into another one of Belial's fusion beasts: Thunder Killer. The revitalized monster immediately takes advantage of the weakened ultras by knocking Z away and electrocuting Geed, only to immediately transform into yet another one of Belial's fusion beasts: Pedanium Zetton, who overwhelms the ultras with his abilities.

Suddenly just as the battle is becoming grim for the ultra duo, Geed and Z are rescued by a third ultra: None other than Ultraman Zero. Having finally managed to escape from Bullton's fourth dimension by utilizing the time-bending power of Shining Zero's Shining Star Drive ability, Zero learned of Geed's appearance on Earth and immediately set out for the planet. Now with three ultras working together, not even Kaburagi's shapeshifting fusion beasts were a match for the combined might of Zero, Geed, and Z. Finally after managing to beat down Skull Gomora, Thunder Killer, and Pedanium Zetton individually, all three monsters were destroyed simultaneously by the combination of Zero's Wide Zero Shot, Geed's Wrecking Phoenix, and Z's Zestium Beam. With the fusion beasts no more, all three ultras head off. Shortly after their departure though, Juggler notices a wounded Kaburagi limping away, but is unable to apprehend him as he is stunned by an unknown weapon in Kaburagi's possession. Despite this, Juggler manages to snatch away the madman's badge, thus finding out the culprit behind Riku's earlier capture.

Rendezvousing in a secluded field, Zero congratulates Haruki for helping out Z with the battles on earth, while Riku is reunited with Pega in the Neo Britanna. Learning that more monsters across the universe are being effected by the Devil Splinters, Riku is forced to leave so as to stop their spread. Before leaving though, he and Zero give their blessings to Haruki and Z as Earth's official guardian, to their delight.

  • When Riku is questioned by Yoko and Yuka about his past, Riku makes up a story that he is a "wanderer" that owns a streaming channel that documents the occurrences of monsters. This is a reference to Gai Kurenai's status as a wanderer, as well as the SSP, who do precisely that (evident by Hebikura's annoyed reaction).
