Mukadender (ムカデンダー, Mukadendā), alternatively known as Mukamender, is a monster that first appeared in Ultraman Taro.

  • Subtitle: Centipede Monster (百足怪獣, Mukade Kaijū)

History[]

Ultraman Taro[]

Mukadender was a monster who was foretold from an old story of how a giant centipede terrorized a village and demanded female sacrifices every year, until he was defeated by a young traveler, armed with a heavenly bow and arrow. One day while Takeo's father was telling a story about the monster to some children at a festival in the Hachiman Shrine, the monster made its presence known by emerging from a nearby mountain and attacking the festival. Takeo's father bravely tried to lure the monster away as people were evacuating, but he was badly injured after he was tied up by Mukadender's webbing and then set on fire by the monster's flames. ZAT quickly arrived on the scene and after sending Takeo's father to a nearby hospital, they fought back against the monster instead.

At first the team fought back with "Operation: Neck Hanging", which involved wrangling Mukadender by tying a long chain around the monster's neck, but Mukadender surprised everyone by separating it's head from its body and untangling itself to resume its rampage. As the monster moved further into a nearby city, Kotaro climbed up a nearby belltower and shot at the monster's head, hoping to debilitate it by shooting out its antennae, but this enraged Mukadender after he shot off one of the monster's horns, who trapped Kotaro with its webbing. While ZAT distracted the monster, Takeo climbed up the tower and freed Kotaro with a spray gun (that Horiyama brought with her to do so). Mukadender however noticed the two and attempted to kill them by uprooting the tower and hurling it far away. Instead, Kotaro quickly transformed into Ultraman Taro to save Takeo and face the monster instead. At first, Taro struggled against Mukadender thanks to the monster utilizing it's ability to separate its head from its body. However after discovering that any damage that Mukadender's head receives carries over to its body, Taro quickly exploited this weakness by targeting the monster's head. Finally after the monster was tossed into the sky, Taro destroyed Mukadender's head with his Storium Ray, as well as his body with his Atomic Punch.[I Can Conquer Monsters Too!]
