Peter (ピーター, Pītā) is a monster that appeared in Ultra Q.

History

Ultra Q

Peter was an alligatortoise that lived in the Philippines when he was fished out of the sea by rookie boxer, Dynamite Joe. Quickly discovering the creature's ability to change sizes (and because he kept fishing it out of the sea whenever he tossed it back in), Joe adopted it and kept Peter as a pet in a small fish tank. Joe quickly discovered Peter's ability to predict the future when he noticed that his boxing career quickly elevated him in the ranks, where he became unbeatable against all of his contenders. However, once Joe learned from Peter that he was destined to lose against the current boxing champion, Ronny Campo, Joe went into hiding, taking Peter with him. Taking on a new identity and career as a clown, Joe's act continued to flourish thanks to Peter's predictions. One night however, Joe was spotted by a pair of reporters who were reporting his disappearance from boxing and demanded answers from him.

While Joe was forced to confess the truth, one of his managers took Peter out of his tank and planned to use his abilities as a special attraction for a water show. The pool that Peter was placed in however was too cold for the alligatortoise to handle, and it shrunk so much that it was impossible to find him again. Later that night as Joe was lamenting over Peter's disappearance, a bolt of lightning struck near where he and the reporters were residing, causing a wildfire to break out, and for Peter to grow exponentially from the massive heat. Hoping to save his friend, Joe tried to lure Peter back to the sea and into the water. However, Peter accidentally knocked over a few oil cans, which caused the already-raging fire to spread even further, consuming Peter in the process. Whether this killed the creature, or made it even larger is unknown however, as Peter was never seen or heard from again.^{[Blazing Glory]}

Abilities

• Divination: According to Dynamite Joe, Peter possesses the ability to foresee future outcomes of whatever situation they are in via body gestures. However, this ability is also speculated to be Joe's own intuition.
• Size Change: Peter's body releases a special lymphatic fluid that makes it react to certain temperatures, causing its body to change sizes depending on how much air and water it is exposed to, and how hot the area around it is.
