Saramandora (サラマンドラ, Saramandora), alternatively known as "Salamandora", is a monster that first appeared in Ultraman 80.

Ultraman 80[]
Saramandora was a monster that belonged to the "Alien Gorgon", a race of aliens who were planning to invade Earth. As Saramandora attacked Japan, none of UGM's weapons could stop the monster's rampage thanks to his thick armored body. After scanning him however, UGM discovered that Saramandora's weak point was a red spot just above his throat, but the monster's wild thrashing made getting close enough to target it too dangerous. Disregarding his own safety, Yamato separated the Silver Gull, and distracted Saramandora long enough to hit the monster's throat with the ship's lasers, causing Saramandora to erupt into sparks and disappear, killing him. Despite Yamato's victory, a fragment of the monster still remained of him, which the Alien Gorgon retrieved and held onto while they carried out their next phase of their mission: Eliminate UGM by framing Captain Oyama for murder.
When their plan failed, the Alien Gorgon retreated back to their hideout and fused themselves with the fragment of Saramandora, bringing the monster back to life and resuming its rampage. UGM and the UN forces were quick to face the monster, but despite the backup from the UN's forces, Saramandora easily disposed of them and brushed off UGM's assault like before. Yamato and Captain Oyama then attempted to take out Saramandora the same way Yamato did earlier, but Saramandora remembered the attack too. This time, he managed to protect his weak spot by catching and hurling Captain Oyama's jet directly at Yamato! Luckily, Yamato transformed into Ultraman 80, rescued Captain Oyama and faced off against Saramandora himself. Although Saramandora managed to withstand 80's physical attacks, as well as a direct hit from his Saxium Ray, 80 continued to fight on until the ultra destroyed Saramandora by firing his Ultra Eye Spot attack directly at the monster's throat, incinerating every cell in Saramandora to prevent him from being revived again.[1][Knockout! Saramandora was one of the many monsters that inhabited Planet Boris. When the ZAP SPACY set off to retrieve some parts to fix the Gostar Dragon's engine on an island known as the "Grand Cape Supply Base," the crew was quickly ambushed by the appearance of Nova, Saramandora, and Lunatyx, who were all fiercely guarding the base from them. Luckily, Rei was with the crew and he quickly summoned Gomora to do battle against the trio of monsters. Gomora easily vaporized Nova with a single blast from his Super Oscillatory Ray, but the monster was quickly double-teamed by the combined might of Saramandora and Lunatyx. Suddenly as the monsters were fighting, four mysterious black ships (that attacked the ZAP SPACY previously) arrived on the scene of their battle and attacked them, destroying Saramandora and Lunatyx in the process with a few energy blasts. The four ships then combined to form one a giant robot, known as "King Joe Black."[Unexpected Reunion]
Mega Monster Battle: Ultra Galaxy Legend The Movie[]
Saramandora is a revived monster and a member of Ultraman Belial's faceless entourage. Sent to slay the surviving Ultraman Mebius alongside Dorako and Bemstar under the command the Alien Shaplay, Saramandora and its comrades were confronted by Ultraseven's Capsule Monsters Agira, Miclas, and Windam. Confronting Windam, Saramandora was met with a barrage of the Capsule Monster's Laser Shots, one of which struck Saramandora's throat, disabling its regeneration ability. Saramandora then exploded after being hit with another concentrated Laser Shot.
Abilities[]
- Salamanic Fire (サラマニックファイヤー, Saramanikku Faiyā): Saramandora can fire a stream of flames from his nose. The temperature of these flames reaches 1,300 degrees Celsius. Later incarnations of Saramandora depict this ability as spitting fireballs from his mouth.
- Missiles/Rockets: Saramandora can fire a rapid succession of organic missiles from his mouth.
- Durability: Thanks to his body's armored plating, Saramandora is durable enough to withstand much of UGM's ballistic and laser weapons, as well as a direct hit from 80's Saxium Ray without showing any signs of physical damage.
- Regeneration: Saramandora possesses an insane regeneration ability by secreting an enzyme in a red spot on his throat that stimulates regeneration. The monster can regenerate from any injury, as well as regenerate an entirely new body, even if he is reduced to a single cell.
- Weakness
The red spot on Saramandora's throat also acts as the monster's weak point. If the spot can be shot at with precision, the enzyme will not be secreted and Saramandora will be unable to regenerate.
