The Ultra Flare (ウルトラ・フレア, Urutora Furea) was a catastrophic event that occurred 15 years before the events of Ultraman X. This powerful solar flare triggered the awakening of the Spark Dolls, reactivating dormant monsters across Earth. The Ultra Flare was not a natural phenomenon but was caused by the influence of a mysterious entity known as Greeza.
History[]
Prelude[]
The origins of the Ultra Flare can be traced back to the battle between Ultraman X and Greeza, a strange luminous lifeform with the ability to consume light and energy. During their confrontation, X managed to force Greeza into the Sun, leading to an unprecedented solar explosion[1].
Incident[]
As a result of the abnormal solar eruption, Earth witnessed a massive surge of energy, manifesting as a purple aurora in the sky. This phenomenon triggered several consequences:
- The Spark Dolls, small inert figures containing the essence of past kaiju, were reactivated, causing monsters to awaken worldwide.
- A spacetime distortion was created, leading to dimensional rifts that connected Earth to alternate universes.
- The explosion completely wiped out the Space Radio Research Institute, where Daichi Ozora's parents were working at the time, leaving their fate unknown. The site later became a dimensional singularity, marking it as a key location in the anomalies affecting Earth.
Aftermath[]
Following the Ultra Flare, humanity was left to deal with the resurgence of kaiju, prompting the formation of Xio, an elite defense organization dedicated to protecting Earth. The event also set the stage for Ultraman X to bond with Daichi Ozora, as X remained trapped in a digitalized state due to the Ultra Flare's energy distortions.
Additionally, the dimensional distortions created by the flare played a crucial role in later events, allowing for cross-universal interactions and enabling Daichi and X to encounter other Ultras and heroes.
