Ultraman Dyna (ウルトラマンダイナ, Urutoraman Daina) is the main hero of Ultraman Dyna. Dyna can only transform twice in battle, his third form is inaccessible, giving him a unique obstacle that only proves his competence.
Although his origins were never explored in the series, he was revealed to be the giant born from Shin Asuka's father Kazuma Asuka (アスカカズマ, Asuka Kazuma) in Ultraman Dyna: Zero Drive to the Future.

Dyna and Asuka are completely the same existence, with Dyna's will, personality, and temperament being that of Shin Asuka himself.

Ultraman Dyna[]
During the Super GUTS recruitment test, Shin Asuka's ZERO Trainer Aircraft was shot by the Sphere and he was forced to eject. Stuck in floating space, Shin remembered his father, wishing to see the same light he witnessed and vowed to not die until then. In that moment, Shin encounter the light and was enveloped him in a tunnel of light, inheriting Ultraman Dyna.
When TPC's Mars Base was attacked by Darambia, the light transformed Shin Asuka and he emerged as Ultraman Dyna for the very first time. Darambia was blasted apart by the light and the new Giant of Light swiftly defeated the Spheres. However, the pieces of Darambia reconstituted in Neo Darambia. Ultraman Dyna was able to shake off its attacks and quickly defeat the Synthetic Beast. Dyna vanished into light and Shin returned to his human form, the Lieflasher appeared next to him. Ultraman Dyna arrived from the future universe to Kanata's present through Sphere-Geomos' wormhole and battled the monster. Agams summoned Terraphaser to fight Dyna.[The Price of Prosperity]

- Type Change/Triple Change: Dyna can only change his form twice in a battle, and Dyna has to be in Flash Type in order to change to Miracle or Strong, meaning that two of the three forms Dyna can access during a single battle are Flash.
- Size Change: Dyna is able to grow back to his original size from any size.
