Summary[]

Kengo Manaka leaves GUTS-Select to stabilize the Eternity Core after the final battle with Megalothor. As Ultraman Trigger flew through Eternity Core's gate, a group cultist approached the site of the Ultra-Ancient ruins, vowing the light to return to them one day.

Two years later, GUTS-Select continues their anti-monster operations, but now with upgrade weaponry and the new Captain Ryuichi Tokioka. They respond to the Subterranean Monster Pagos's attack on a city, driving it back underground with the Nurse Canon. GUTS-Select report to Chairman Mitsukuni Shizuma's office where he revealed the breaches of Ultra-Ancient ruins around the world. Seiya Tatsumi, now currently leading an investigation with TPU into the matter, had captured one of the perpetrators who belonged to Lyerah, a cultist group that worship the Ultra-Ancient civilization and intend to use its power to create their utopia. The cultist claimed that the light was calling upon them. And although the Eternity Core had been stabilized and the monster appearances has decreased in the last two years, monsters have once again began to increase from the Lyerah's use of monster-luring devices. In the meantime, TPU and GUTS-Select had been monitoring the core with Tokioka's systems in order to rescue Kengo. Yuna wondered why Kengo hadn't returned if the core had already stabilized. She told Akito that the Yuzare's memories had been fading. Akito postulated that perhaps her duty as the priestess was over. Yuna began to hear Kengo's voice and saw a vision of him in agony.

The energy readings of the Eternity Core suddenly became abnormal. The Lyerah Ibura, who claimed to be a descendant of the Ultra-Ancient civilization, was willing to share his plan with TPU and GUTS-Select under the condition that he speaks to Yuzare. He bowed down to Yuna, telling her that the light was fading and would soon permanently fuse with the Eternity Core, and that only the use of the relic in their ritual could give power to Ultraman Trigger. Akito remembered that the stone tablet indicated some sort of ritual involving the altar, and Tokioka uncovered the ritual was performed to gather light into the relic. Tesshin doubted that they could collect light strong enough to give power to Kengo, but Tokioka recognized that they could use Satellite Sol to convert sunlight into the energy needed for the ritual. GUTS-Select and TPU arrive at the ruins with the Lyerah and the ritual goes underway. Right when Tokioka placed the Ancient Sparklence at the alter, Yuna saw a memory of the same ritual performed in the ancient past. As the satellite began to reposition itself, the fluctuations of the core became abnormal again. They quickly opened the gate to the Eternity Core and allowed the Lyerah to proceed with ritual, inserting four items into the altar, and activating the relic. Satellite Sol fires the Maxima Light Energy toward the altar, charging the Ancient Sparklence with enough light and Ibura sends the energy to the core. Kengo was separated from the core safely, but the light of Ultraman Trigger were scattered.

Kengo woke up in his quarters that was now heavily decorated with greenery. The team welcomed him back with a surprise party and caught up with each other. Tokioka introduced himself to Kengo for the first time. Kengo went to the stone tablet in Akito lab, with the revelation that he can't become Ultraman anymore without the Hyper Keys. Tokioka came into the lab to speak with Kengo, thanking him for defeating the Giants of Darkness and stabilizing the core. He asked Kengo why the light would choose to become human and how Kengo will live now that he's an ordinary human. The Lyerah escaped from their cells and Tatsumi and his unit apprehended them but Ibura summoned the monster Pagos near the TPU HQ. Chairman Shizuma deployed GUTS-Select to take care of Pagos while Tatsumi pursued the escapees. As they shot at the monster, Ultraman Z cut through the dimensional wall and returned to Trigger's universe. Surprised by their return, Kengo revealed Haruki's identity to Yuna, who was unaware of their connection. He took on Pagos and changed into Alpha Edge while wielding the Beliarok. Z fired his Zestium Beam point blank and destroyed the monster. Haruki told GUTS-Select about Celebro's escape from STORAGE from his Earth and of a strange presence that drew the attention of the Beliarok to their universe. Akito suggested the creature could be the one behind the Lyerah. Haruki asked Kengo if something was up, Tesshin and Tokioka explained that he couldn't transform into Trigger anymore as his light was scattered. They located one of the keys and began a search party with Haruki's help.

In the forest Ibura appeared to be possessed by Celebro and had gotten the Multi Type Key before they could. Gazort was summoned to the area. Haruki and Kengo chased after Ibura but are ambushed Lyerah. Haruki swatted the key from Ibura's hand and gave it to Kengo to transform. Ultraman Trigger appeared and took on the monster. Marluru detected the two other keys, the Power Type Key was found in a haunted house while the Sky Type Key was in Gazort's stomach. Haruki took down Ibura, but realized Celebro had left his body. He was knocked unconscious by another Lyerah that Celebro has possessed. Tokioka had the GUTS Falcon anchor Gazort to an electrical tower, allowing Trigger to make Gazort vomit the Sky Type Key. He changed to Sky Type and chased the monster through the sky. Gazort was defeated but Deathdrago and Genegarg suddenly emerged and fought Trigger. Haruki regained conscious and transformed to help Kengo. Yuna and Akito retrieved the Power Type Key, allowing Kengo to change into Power Type while Z assumed Beta Smash. The two powerful Ultramen wrestled the monsters and defeated them together. However Z/Haruki began to act strange. Celebro had managed to hijack their shared body and possessed the transformed Haruki. Z changed back to his original form but his left eye had became red, a sign of Celebro's infection. Z unexpectedly attacks Trigger. Tokioka attempts to save his underling but was killed by Z's blast. Trigger is defeated by Z and Kengo returned to his human form. The Lyerah and Celebro stole his GUTS Sparklence and Hyper Keys, despite how much Haruki resisted. Ignis came back to Earth and fended off the Lyerah from taking Kengo.

Marluru, Tesshin, and Himari picked up a light similar to Triggers at the altar. Kengo, Akito, Yuna, and Ignis meet the Lyerah and Celebro at the alter, where the Sparklence and Keys were placed. Celebro planned another one of his Civilization Self-Destruction Games and helped the Lyerah. Captain Tokioka, the true leader of the Lyerah, appeared before them, and gave his gratitude to Celebro's help. Celebro transformed into Z, intent on attacking the Nursedessei. Ignis transformed into Trigger Dark and pushed back against the possessed Z along with the GUTS Falcon. The Lyerah reactivated the ritual. From Yuzare's memories, Yuna remembered Tokioka's true identity "Zabil", an Ultra-Ancient who was a scientist in Yuzare's Terra Protection Team. She questioned why he would turn on them. At the time of Yuzare's death, Zabil arrived too late and the Giants of Darkness they had fought were effortlessly sealed way by Trigger. Zabil felt the death of his friends were in vain, and he realized in that moment he should become light himself. He left the message of the Giants of Darkness' return in the stone tablet that Mitsukuni and Akito had studied. He lived for years and eventually crossed paths with Chairman Shizuma, and gained his trust with the "discovery" of the Ancient Sparklence. Zabil orchestrated all these events and anticipated to steal the light. As a contingency for if the light was ever lost, he partnered with Celebro and used GUTS-Select to gather the Keys. He rejected the idea of Kengo, the incarnation of light, pretending to be human and reasoned it was pointless if humans can't become light to protect the planet themselves. Zabil gave up his humanity to become the light and initiated the ritual. The other Lyerah are consumed by the energy as the relic is imbued with light.

Zabil takes the Ancient Sparklence and transformed into Evil Trigger. Evil Trigger fights Trigger Dark along with Z and took down the Nursedessei with Marluru, Tesshin, and Himari onboard. Kengo and Akito forced their way through the altar's barrier and retook the GUTS Sparklence and Hyper Keys. Ultraman Trigger rose up once again and fought alongside Trigger Dark. With the Nursedessei damaged, Marluru, Tesshin, and Himari found themselves of no use, but Captain Tatsumi returned and donned his GUTS-Select uniform once again and reminded them humanity will never lose as long as they have the will to fight. They armed themselves with GUTS Sparklences, Triple Hyper, and the Hyper Launcher and rush to Kengo and Ignis's aid. Ignis took on Evil Trigger buys Kengo enough time to wake up Haruki from Celebro's enthrallment. Haruki's spirit dispelled Celebro from Z and his body and assumed Alpha Edge. Zabil declared himself the light and the one to guide humanity. His desire to become god consumed him and Evil Trigger went berserk. Ibura is once again possessed by Celebro, who summoned Destrudos with its medal. Evil Trigger began to drain Trigger's energy. GUTS-Select back up Trigger as he was weakened. Yuna used Yuzare's ring for the final time to extract another fragment of the Eternity Core and sent it to Kengo, allowing him to assume Glitter Trigger Eternity once again. The three Ultramen easily destroy Destrudos, separating Celebro from Ibura. Evil Trigger grew even more massive as the darkness inside Zabil increased. Z, Trigger Dark, and Trigger combined their beams and utterly destroyed Evil Trigger. Kengo, Ignis, and Haruki return to the ground as the gate disintegrated. Zabil was reverted back to his human form. He witnessed GUTS-Select's bond, remembering his past comrades and Yuzare as he faded away, smiling one final time before he died. They noticed Himari was nowhere to be found. Himari had managed to capture Celebro and the parasitic creature was vacuum sealed. Haruki and Ignis bid their friends farewell and departed from Earth. GUTS-Select and the Chairman hold another party for Kengo's return.
