Yunijin (ユニジン, Yunijin) is a monster that appeared in Ultraman Max.

History

Ultraman Max

The Yunijin was a mythological creature that constantly orbits the Solar System, traveling through time and space while doing so, and lands on Earth once every 12 years on Christmas Eve during its galactic travels. During the Monster's travels, one man named Dr. Kori (who encountered the Monster when he was a little boy) became fascinated by the Monster, and thus he dedicated his life to catching the Yunijin to show it to the World. During one of Dr. Kori's attempts to catch the Monster, he finally managed to do so with Wood from an Ash Tree (via Walking Cane) and an Egyptian Crystal being used as a power converter to trap the Monster in an ancient trap.

In doing so however, the Yunijin began to release some spores that were disintegrating its surroundings into Space-Time. With the Yunijin's struggling erasing everything behind it, Kaito transformed into Ultraman Max and created a shield to prevent the Yunijin's spores from erasing more of their surroundings. Horrified by what he had done, Dr. Kori removed the Cane (the main component to his trap) and the Yunijin was freed, where it took off to continue its travels. Luckily, all that was erased from the Yunijin's spores were restored after the Monster's departure. While Dr. Kori lamented that he couldn't capture the Yunijin and feeling it was happier being freed, he and DASH noticed that the Yunijin left behind a single branch filled with Red Berries (the object in which Dr. Kori went to go fetch when he first encountered the Yunijin.) With that, Dr. Kori was happy knowing that the Yunijin remembered him after so many years of chasing it.^{[Elly at Christmas]}

Abilities

• Spores: Because it constantly travels through time and space, if the Yunijin stops longer than it wishes too, it will (unintentionally) release spores from its body that disintegrate anything it touches into Space-Time. However should the Yunijin resume its travels, the effects of its Spores last only temporary and the Space-Time returns back to normal.
